Man where do I even begin. I got a whole lot of ideas and frankly I'm tired of bothering individuals with them. If you can believe it I sometimes go off and expound at a dinner party with these kind of things. Or I bother my wife or text my neighbors. And can you believe it? The ideas come out and I want to keep them?!
The point of this site is that I got all these ideas and they're connected. Hopefully you will find something insightful or funny.
It could be part blog (ugh) but not strictly sequential or chronological, if anything hopefully like the late Mark Fisher's k-punk. Which I haven't read all of but I get the gist and I like it. It is also part essay collection (jeez louise), but hopefully without me seeming like I'm needing to be smart or right or necessarily complete, which that fella was able to do. It might sometimes be like a digital or hypertext garden as a place for little notes and snippets and the like but, contradicting the last point, with the aim of completing thoughts, like growing an apple tree that grows perfectly decent apples, and not just throwing old tomatoes into the compost, and when you see some kind of weed growing out of it later, you touch the leaf and smell it to reveal it is a tomato plant, and the little tomatoes start to grow, and the plant does better than the ones you plant and fertilize and tend to purposefully. But also sometimes I might throw some tomatoes in the compost. Sometimes I really articulate a thought satisfyingly in an email or some kind of message somewhere, maybe a comment on some kind of post, and then I'll rearticulate it here. Sorry if you see something I sent you and it's been rehashed here.
Unfortunately I am interested in a lot of stuff that is from Books but I don't really read the books because they make me fall asleep and I would probably rather do dishes or play video games. I do read a lot of Wikipedia and so that makes me a very well-rounded dumb guy.
How this site works
For any nerds out there, this is a statically-generated site. I write all the HTML by hand and try to utilize semantic HTML where possible but sometimes it is kind of hard because the definitions are vague. The site is like this because the internet is bad and bloated now and I believe in hypertext. There's a little bit of javascript for some cute stuff though. It is hosted with nginx, probably poorly, and in a secret place so the powers that be can't steal my identity and all of my information (joke) (sort of).
I write the site in BBEdit because it's nice for writing HTML by hand and tickles my silly nostalgia for various parts of the old Internet.
About the name
It is a reference to the style of describing Communist programs attributable to a person e.g. Mao Zedong Thought. When these ideas have come up in I thought it was funny.
Other potential names: winkapedia, Zack's World, compendium... these might end up in the epigraph at the top.
